I've never had Indonesian food before and not sure if this would be a fair reference but I must say the flavor in this place was really good. I ordered the fried fish with coconut sauce and my daughter had beef. Super nice service, too. The atmosphere was nice. People were pleasant.

We ordered the rice table! I bet we had 15 small dishes from beef redang to redang jackfruit to fried rice. All amazing! We had a lovely server from Ireland that made the night perfect!

Good indonesian food. Not as spicy as some others. Pleasant service. As expected, there are many, many dishes in the sample style. They barely fit on the table. It's nice because you get one skewer of this and a little taste of that. Clean pleasant bathroom.

Service was solid, not amazing but not horrible. Server was super nice, but they pull the classic move of offering sparkling or still water and charging you for it, which is kind of frustrating. Food was at worst pretty average and at best super tasty. We had the buri menu/rice table, which had some huge highlights (lamb/chicken satay, tempeh, curry were all great) and just some super average dishes (hard boiled eggs with curry, warm vegetables with coconut milk). Super fun to get to have so many bites of mostly really good food, but not unskippable. Cute little spot with natural lighting and good, unique food

One of the best Indonesian restaurant and the only one I have been to. We ordered the meal for two but wow so much food came out. There were about 15 different items on the table and the service was good. Food came out fast and the environment had a cozy atmosphere. I would def visit again and would recommend this place!

When in Amsterdam, one should eat the food of the country's former colonial possessions, so off to Blauw we went, to experience an authentic Indonesian Rijstaffel dinner. Slight snag in our reservation; although the on-line system confirmed a 7:30 table, they serve by seatings at 6 and 8; not sure why the on-line system would take a 7:30 in that case, but it did. After a few minutes with the host staff, we were offered a bar high top; after about 10 mins they gave us a regular table. What they didn't mention was that we had to wait until 8 to order. Oh well, the food was worth waiting for. We ordered the authentic Rijstaffel, which includes meat, fish and vegetable options. We were not expecting the variety of dishes that were delivered to our table; the waiter brought about 7 plates, and then came back with about 8 more! The food was delicious; the chicken satay and the goat satay were both wonderful. We also enjoyed the beef rendang, chicken curry, and fried fish with sweet soy sauce. The shrimp in spicy sauce was also a winner; the shrimp were plump and juicy. Finally, the veggie dishes were pretty varied; crispy honeyed potato sticks, sweet and sour pickled cucumber slices, jackfruit in curry sauce, cabbage with a sour vinegar sauce, egg curry, and a super-delicious sautéed green bean dish. The food was served with white and fried rice. It was WAY too much for the two of us to finish. We ended with traditional Indonesian coffee which was served with complimentary slices of a ginger/honey cake. Recommended for an authentic Indonesian "Rice Table"/Rijstaffel meal in Amsterdam.

We had a very fun and enjoyable time sampling a massive amount of Dutch Indonesian food with about 17 different dishes (I lost count) with that came with our meat and fish rice table. It was really ridiculous but I guess that's the point. I am not familiar with Indonesian food, but my understanding is that the rice table was invented by the Dutch to showcase the rich and diverse array of flavors and spices of their colony. I though the food was very good although was very much on the sweet side. The service was very friendly and it was a lot of fun trying so many small dishes.

Ordered: Menu Biru (~€53/person): selection of street food including meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, and dessert from the chef Gin-Tonic Blauw 7 Rempah (~€13): their homemade gin with 7 spices (Lemongrass, Juniper, Coriander, Cloves, Lime leaf, Pandan leaf, Rawit pepper) L'Autantique Chardonnay Languedoc (~€30/bottle) Aya's take: My first Rijsttafel! Rijsttafel translates into "rice table" which is an elaborate Indonesian meal adapted by the Dutch. Their downstairs section is semi-private although still very loud but it gave us all the opportunity to sit together and move freely. This kind of meal is perfect for our large party of 15 people as they bring out tons of dishes and plenty of food. You will absolutely not get up from the table hungry! Each dish was vibrant, insanely well-seasoned, and varied in flavor. I'm salivating just writing this. If you're in Amsterdam, I highly recommend having a Rijsttafel experience - Blauw is a great option for it.

Amazing. Great food, great vibe, great service. Pretty good value too. The food was great, I recommend the "meals" where you get to try everything . It's a lot of food, you will be stuffed. I liked setting pretty much. I'll be back! Right by the park too which is a great walk or bike before and after the meal.(Amsterdam location)
